If you’re keen on athletics, the Scottish Borders has plenty to offer, including beautiful scenery, lively clubs and great camaraderie.

Many towns hold their own annual games attracting competitors from far and wide, and have established running and athletics groups open to adults and young people.

You’ll also find longer distance running events including the Jedburgh Half Marathon, Kelso, Galashiels and Hawick 10Ks, and various fun runs during the running season.

Borders Athletics is the central organisation supporting athletics across the region, and works with other bodies including Scottish Athletics and other national and local groups. The Borders athletics track is at Tweedbank.
